 I have a Sundaylicious topic for you, and  when better to post it than on Sunday.
Its about the countless proposals and toasting I have received from some christian "brodas".

Now, A normal guy would ask you out with "i like you, you are pretty, you are this and that, lets date each other"
A Christian brother 'will be like "Sister Funmi, The Lord is leading me to you or  God said you are my wife or i had a vision" .
I can't call the ones that came to ask me out "brothers" cos their toasting mode get as e be. I doubt their brotherism.

Thank God it's Friday mehn.
Some people are usually all excited cos they get to hit the town or have a date night.
I am not gonna mention names. They know themselves. lol .
As for me I just love it cos there's no work for the next two days.

I get to just rest,chill out and recharge my batteries.
If you want to find my trouble just invite me somewhere on a weekend or pay me a visit. I can swear for that person ehn. Weekend is like my ME time, while Friday is my hanging out day.
But i close so late, i just go home sometimes.

So! lemme just spill it out. I know that's what you all want to read. Hehehehehe.

I kinda agree . Its impossible to mistakenly cheat except peharps your spouse has an identical twin or you were blindfolded. And that is still debatable sef. Some people won't accept the excuse of "i thought it was you".
However its possible for cheating to be a mistake.

Yay its the Emmys!

Breaking News for all Tv Show addicts. # raises up hands.
The 66th Primetime Emmys are gonna hold today Monday, 25th of August or Tuesday 26th of August depending on what Continent you are in.

Me, I am still contemplating whether to stay up late watching it live cos here in Nigeria its gonna start at about 1am till like 4/5am and  i still have to go to work tomorrow morning, or wait till the repeat shows tomorrow night. I think loyal followers of this blog who know how much i looooooove tv shows, know what i am gonna end up doing.
Yeah! Totally staying up late. Hopefully Nepa doesn't take the light cos my dad is gonna freak if i put on the gen that late.

So what shows are you rooting for?
Harper's (and mine) favorite Blacklist got no nomination, neither did Tibsys Castle.
I think some of mine and Vira"s fav shows got nominations.

I am rooting for Game of thrones. Peter Dinklage and Lena Headey got nominations.

I also hope William H. Macy wins for best Actor in a comedy ( For Shameless) though he's got some stiff competition.

My favorite show Mad Men will soon end oh, i wonder what i am gonna watch when its over. I hope Jon Hamm wins but it seems unlikely. Hes being nominated like ten times and hes never won. Personally i think all those Emmy voters are jealous of his sex appeal, kinda like the Oscar Crew are on a mission never to give Leonardo Di Caprio an Oscar.

Who else, For best actress in a drama, Kerry Washington is up, though i doubt she's gonna win.

 Michelle Dockery is up for Downtown Abbey, Claire Danes for Homeland, The Good wife woman (i have forgotten her name) and Robin Wright for House of Cards.
I kinda love all of them so any of them could win and i would be happy.
Just note that i am rooting majorly for Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad. Any win by any of these two, or their cast would make me a very happy blogger.

 

Although from what i have heard True Detective starring Matthew McConaughey is a real critics favorite.
I hope Modern Family doesn't win best Comedy again. E don do now, they have being winning it year after year.
What else? I hope the Voice wins best reality show.
And i wonder how Seth Meyers is gonna do as a host.

Which of your favorite shows were not nominated. I feel like we ought to protest.
I would love it if Once Upon a time, Suits,The Originals and co were all nominated even if just once.

So the question I gotta ask is this.

Is ignorance bliss? I have already said it is not in my comments  in the last post.

Just One Slap

I read a lot of books. So it was always funny when i read that someone was slapped and he/she saw stars.
Until it happened to me.
I think I saw the nine planets and some constellations.lol.
 It was that brutal.
Mind you,it was just that one slap oh,but I saw many many many things.
That one slap was enough.

So here's what happened.
 I met this cute guy after attending lectures one evening.

Coconut oil drama.

So,while I was at the office, I got talking to a colleague with very gorgeous natural hair.
It was so beautiful,It even had curls.*sighs in jealousy*.
I was fascinated.I touched it and it was so soft.
I asked her what the secret was and she said Coconut oil and vitamin E.

 Toh! Coconut oil!
I was determined to get my hands on it.

Back in town!

Yay! I am back.
Back like i never left. *shines teeth*
I had major fun.
Though i stylishly managed to avoid nightclubs /casinos / bars that some people who shall remain nameless tried to get me to go to.
And what a trip!

Flashback: Boarding School

I hated Boarding School.
When I got a job, we had to do a security check and a character analysis. One of the requirements of the character analysis was for us to write a short essay on your life.
I wrote mine and added,' I HATED boarding school. I was miserable the entire time.'
My poor dad had a big shock reading that statement when i asked him to go through the essay. He had no idea.
It was bad. *sighs* very bad.

Just chilling

Hi guys!
How did your day go?

I spent mine listening to lectures as per training stuff. And amazingly I wasn't bored. I have short attention span when it comes to sitting down for lectures but luckily this lectures weren't boring even though it was all about law. I usually prefer to zone out or day dream during the lectures and read up later.

So it's another "almost friday" day. If I were home I would have been screaming in excitement at the upcoming weekend but since I have been away from work all week,  Its kinda hard to get excited.
But I am still excited on y'all's behalf.

The fear of Boko Haram is the Beginning of wisdom in this Abuja. I am at a cafe in a mall waiting for my a friend to get his ass over here. Yet I am not really as comfortable as I used to be. I can't get The Westgate mall attack which happened last year in Kenya  out of my mind. At the back of my mind is the prayer that Boko Haram doesn't decide to visit this mall today, this minute. I know the chances are low but still.

The last time I was in Abuja was even worse. It was a few days after the Emab bombing. Fear was palpable in the air. I received calls every hour, "don't go to any mall,shopping complex oh".
Just stay where you are.
My phone charger got spoilt.
Guess where I could have gotten another one. Emab plaza!
Let's just say I didn't bother. I no fit shout.

On a good day,i love eating out alone. This particular mall used to be my chill out mall when I lived in Abuja for a while. I would go there when I had a hard day at work, just sit alone, with a bowl of ice cream, ignore the inquisitive stares( In Abuja women sitting alone seem like they are awaiting clients)  and just chill.

One thing I hate to do is wait. I am a notoriously impatient waiter. I have taken about five scoops of ice cream all in the name of waiting.

Monday gist

Hi guys,
How did your weekend go?
What were you up to? Did you go visiting,attend an event, hit the night clubs, travel , meet up with an old friend, have a date night, pray, study for exams, clean up your house,go to the cinema?.........I am running out of options.
So fess up? What were you up to all weekend?
I kinda wish weekend was 3 days instead of 2. That's what they call a loooooooooooooooong weekend. lol.

So today is another Monday, which was tiring as usual.

God and I : The journey so far

Don't get it twisted, in reality I am a very spiritual person.
I don't talk about it much cos the journey I had getting there was a very hard one one which I don't like to talk about or even think about cos when I remember, it makes me back to a place i don't ever wanna go back to.

Long Journey. lol

Years ago, I had a void in my heart.I was very depressed and felt empty. I looked and looked and searched and searched but nothing and nobody could fill that void. It wasn't something that was visible on the outside but I knew it, I felt it and it was like I was drowning. And i needed to get help soon or it would kill me.
Sex didn't fill that deep void. I know cos I tried.lol.

Deal Breaker

A deal breaker is that 'something' that you can't just take.
Its an issue within a relationship that results in one partner breaking up with another.
That 'catch' that you cannot overlook and which ultimately outweighs any redeeming quality the other person might have.

In my opinion, Everybody has a deal breaker.
Some know it already, and some people don't  but when they do encounter that situation, then they know its a deal breaker.
 As in they cannot take it and they wont take it and nobody can convince them otherwise.

It could be a cheating spouse, cos for some men i know, you cheat once and they are OUT of that marriage/ relationship. If the woman likes she should cry blood. No show!

Road trip

So today, some colleagues and i are going to be at a Nysc Orientation Camp to go 'talk' to the Corpers (aka ajuwayas) in camp and recruit the interested ones into my office's Cds group. I volunteered for the trip even though e no concern my department before i remembered how bad the road leading to the camp was but it was too late. Dem no gree release me again. Apparently, nobody wanted to go. Even the ones whose department had the duty.

Unlike most people i know, i love road trips even though the bad roads and the bribe collecting policemen and soldiers in Naija has kind of lessened my ardor, although it hasn't managed to cool it completely sha.

Those University days, I traveled a lot. I had liver then oh.  These days if its not work related, i don't really have the time or inclination to go anywhere.

Almost Friday

Thank God its almost friday.I think, (in fact i know) i love fridays more than any other day of the week.

Is anyone as excited as i am that its almost Friday. Just a few hours left.

So how has your day been? Mine was pretty uneventful save for some early morning visitors coming to 'bang' the gate and disturb my sleep.
Why some people feel the need to come ask for favours/ and money early in the morning is beyond me. Is the person supposed to be happy you didnt let him/her sleep?

Cheating

In this world that we are in ehn, it's hard to find someone who has never cheated or being cheated on. I tell you, most people have stories to tell.
Me sef get plenty story to tell.

Its raining here and all I feel like doing is sleeping.
Is it weird that I don't feel like going to work? All I want to do is just hide under the covers and sleep, sleep and sleep.
Unfortunately,i do have to get up and go to work. At least I can go late. Lol.On the other hand I hope some of my colleagues are feeling the same way oh.
Imagine me having a ready made excuse and it turns out all the others arrived on time.

As for me, the answer is NO (although if they ever end up married, then friendship could be a great foundation) because It happened to me and it didn't work out.

Seems the year is going by so very very fast.
Wasn't it just yesterday that it was January?

Thank God it's Friday. I plan to binge watch as many episodes of Suits Season 5 and Mad men season 6 as I can.
Aaaand before I forget, wish me luck evading one guy like that who is just disturbing me. We went on one date oh and he's refused to let me rest. I was soo bored during the date I lost interest completely.I am not even in d mood to talk to him. Yet he's refused to give up. What am I supposed to tell him now?
